Other Entertainment
Your party planning may be almost complete. You seem to be stuck on what to do for entertainment. . Let’s discuss a few options.
Have you considered having a petting zoo at your party? Nearly all children are animal lovers. Small children, in particular, love to see and touch animals of different varieties. The trainers of these animals select only the most gentle and affectionate animals to be a part of their petting zoo. Little ones may have the opportunity to watch and pet sheep, rabbits, ponies, ducks and more.
Puppet shows are very entertaining to children. The characters will sometimes have mention of the guest of honor’s birthday (or other event) included in the play. Many puppet shows teach guests how the shows are produced and allow them to perform mini skits for the audience.
An arts and crafts party is a fun alternative to the usual party activities. Children make creative items at the party and take them home to keep. You may hire someone to teach the crafting session or you may do so yourself. Kits are available for crafts with so many per package. There may be other items such as glue or paint brushes you may need to supply to augment the craft kits.
Pony rides are a fun way for children to enjoy a party. They usually take turns riding while being led around by a handler. Some handlers have several ponies on a carousel so more than one child at a time may enjoy the riding. You may want to make an agreement with the service provider that the animal’s mess will be cleaned prior to their leaving.
Face painting or an airbrush artist would be a creative addition to your party. These artists come prepared with their supplies to face paint designs or airbrush the children’s faces. Face painting will last a few hours or until washed off. Airbrushing can last a couple of days for greater enjoyment.
Air jumpers, slides and climbing walls are also great for party entertainment. The air jumping houses will hold several children at once. The slides are huge with air blown retaining walls for safety. Climbing walls are typically owned by trained climbers and handlers for utmost safety.
